NASA says its Artemis programme is designed to make the return to the Moon sustainable. The plan includes Gateway, a reusable command and service module, plus landers that could travel between the platform and the lunar surface. The Moon would be a proving ground for living and working on another world, using resources such as sunlight and water ice. NASA’s Administrator says those lessons could support future journeys to Mars. The astronauts interviewed also described Artemis as a national effort that could encourage innovation and produce benefits on Earth. One astronaut said solving unfamiliar problems can stretch technology and improve life here.
